Welcome to Lyons Community Montessori school!
All of us here at LCM adhere to the principle tenets of the Montessori method, and we do so in our beautiful learning environment nestled in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies.
Our overarching goal is to teach children in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment that allows them to grow as individuals by promoting independence and self-reliance, expanding their natural sense of curiosity to help them make sense of the world around them, and shaping their experiences of working in groups—teaching them how to share and care about others. We accept children ages 2.5 to 6 years old who are toilet trained.
LCM Mission Statement
To impart to children a sense of wonder and concern about the world around them using the teaching principles of the Montessori method.
What Is Unique about LCM?
Well, unlike most schools in which the teacher-to-student ratio is 1:10, at Lyons Community Montessori the teacher-to-student ratio is 1:7.5. This fact provides us with the amazing opportunity to teach your child in a more nurturing classroom with greater focus on the child.
We follow a Peace curriculum that teaches our children about conflict resolution in a concrete in meaningful way, giving them valuable communications skills that they can apply to every aspect of their lives. We provide organic foods whenever possible and offer peanut-free snacks.
